July Come Back

July is just around the corner and Elmer is entered for July 4th at Penn.  She is in the 7th race #6 out of 7 and going 1 1/16th mile.  Her last start was her first race off the layoff for $7,500 beaten and this race is a drop in a few conditions to $4,000 beaten.  On June 27th she worked 3f in :36 setting her up nicely for the upcoming race.

Pretty Mr. D continues his training and works toward an early July return to the races.  His recent works consist of a 5f 1:01.4 on June 24th and a 3f work in :37.4 on June 30th.

June Update

June is a little more then half over and Elmer finally got a chance to run.  We entered over 6 races in June all of which were not used on that nights card.  The race we got in was a bit tougher then I had wanted for her first time back after 6 months.  We drew the one hole going 1 1/16th in a $7,500 haven't won a race in 6 months.  The race started out with her stumbling after the break and settling back to last as she usually does.  Down the back stretch and into the turn she made a nice move going past a few horses and at the top of the lane she stuck her head between foes and moved up to 5th.  She ran flat down the lane not making up much ground on the front 4, this is to be expected for her first race back especially against tougher horses then we had wanted to run against.  All in all She put forth a good effort and came out of the race good.  I will keep you posted as we are looking forward to early July for her next start

Pretty Mr D (Elmer's Half Bro) has been galloping and posted his first 3f work on June 7th going :35.4 and gallopping out 4f in :48 making him the 2nd fastest 3f work of the day.  On the same day Coco Bull's Flash (Holy Bull 2yo filly) worked out of the gate going 3f in :37.8 making her 7 out of 11 for the day, this was only her 2nd published work. Works for the above mentioned should continue through June.  We are looking at claiming in the $5,000 range so gather your friends and let's get in the winners circle together.

Elmer's Gyspy Rose

May 2nd was Elmer's first official work after the refresher.  She work 3 furlongs on 37.2 and gallop out the half mile strong.  We look to carry this work forward and move one step closer to the races.  Her next work should be 4 or 5 furlongs depending on how the next week goes as she comes out of the work and trains ahead.

Elmer's Gyspy Rose

Elmer had a nice 45 day rest on the farm and is headed back to Penn National to prep for the spring and summer racing.

Pretty Mr. D

November 27th - Elmer's Gypsy Rose ran at Parx and she didn't seem to like the track as many horses don't.  Pretty Mr. D ran at Penn and destroyed the competition winning by over 8 lengths and recording a time of 1:12.2 for 6 furlongs. Pretty Mr. D is a 2year old half brother to Elmer's Gypsy Rose.

Update: Mr. D finished 3rd twice in Dec, both races were Allowance race going 6 furlongs in 1:09.3 & 1:10.2     Looking Good D!!

Elmer's Gypsy Rose

Race Result... EGR ran 4th on June 5th,  She placed herself mid pack and made a good move up to 3rd into the far turn.  Through the turn she did her classic relax and let a few go by then she started a run at them down the lane finishing about 3 legths behind the winner 4th.

Elmer's Gypse Rose is entered for Saturday June 5th race #4.  We drew the outside post position which isn't where we want to be but thats racing.  A rider change to D. Benavides was made.

Race Result... EGR ran 5th on the 22nd.  She made a move into the far turn that looked like she was going to go by the field but she just hung and fought on for 5th.  She came out of the race without and issues.

Elmer's Gypsy Rose is entered this Sat. May 22nd at Penn. Race #8 post #8.  Chaves gets the mount and we look to get spring sprung with a nice win for the young filly.

EGR is entered on Saturday May 8th at Penn National race #5.  She draws the #1 post in a 7 horse F/M 3+ Non Winners of 2 Life for $5,000 with a $12,000 purse.  M. Chaves gets the mount, Manny got a win for us back in August with Blonde Actor.  Lets hope the little break in action and the 1 Mile 70 Yrds distance pays good dividends for Elmer's and UbetRacing.

Race Results...  EGR ran 4th.  She broke from the gate and quickly set the pace. She continued on the lead into the far turn where she gave way.  After she swithed leads mid-stretch Chaves said she started running again.  We haven't seen her set early fractions since she has been with us at Penn.  Maybe the little break did her well and freshened her.
